What kinds of electronics do we carry and why?
When we start talking about technology....something stirs inside us. We are lovers of simplicity, of living in the present and of authentic person to person contact and yet, we are armed to the gills with "things". And still we'd like to have a little more...
The real question is: why? What do they give us that keeps us hanging on?
The real question is: why? What do they give us that keeps us hanging on?
Technology is an extraordinary advance for humans - one that can easily turn into an extraordinary relapse depending on how we use it. We're able to connect quickly and easily with people on the other side of the globe, we're capable of finding relatively truthful information - sometimes by more or less side-stepping government controls - and we have access to an abominable amount of information that at least allows us to begin to understand ourselves. And, ladies and gentlemen, it has only just begun. There is of course the counterpoint of incorrect or unhealthly use, but we'll deal with that another time.
So why do we carry so many gadgets? Because well used and well enjoyed, these devices allow us to bring our words, our images, our voices, and, in the end, our message, much closer to each of you. It would, of course, be much simpler to not do any of it. But we feel that we have something to tell, something to transmit, a small grain of sand to break against the wall and say... what in the heck are we doing with our "only" f***ing life??!!
We also recognize that it's hard for us to put ourselves to the task of "blogging", but the idea that one day we'll bring into manifestation the thousands of little gifts that we have hidden, waiting to share, is what keeps us going. And then...then everything will change.
Many of the things that we carry are chargers and rechargeables which, thanks to the energy of the sun, we are able to charge. This gives us the freedom to be "OFF GRID", to not have to rely on bars and hotels to keep our devices up to speed, and, of course, the consequent economic freedom that comes with it.
